Wall Decor

Decorating rooms for children can be very simple, and you can do almost anything that you want. Some like to have huge murals painted on the wall, but not everyone can do that, or even wants to do that, for various reasons. Finding the right color and/or the right wallpaper is often a labor of love, but for some, it can be rather daunting. They know what they like, but how can they guess what their children might like? I recently had that problem myself, and that is when I discovered a whole new type of wall dcor that was perfect for us.

This wall dcor was something that might be not so new to some, but I had never seen it before in my life. I was looking for a wall paper border to go along the top of my daughters room, and came across wall dcor that would go with whatever border I would like to get. You could get wall decals, light switches, and even curtains that were made to go with each offered border. I could not believe how beautiful some of them were. What struck me the most were the wall decals we could buy.

We ended up choosing four large butterflies to add to my daughters wall dcor. They were all about a foot in height and about a foot wide. What was different about these though, as far as I knew, was that they were made from wallpaper. They were not made of a heavy sticker material that you would never be able to take from the wall without peeling off the paint. That meant that even though this type of wall dcor might look like it is permanent, it is not. It will stay in place as long as you need, but will come off just like any other type of wall paper you may put up to cover walls or just as a decorative border.

If you are interested in this type of wall dcor for your home, you can find it in some different home improvement stores. I think we got ours at Lowes if I remember correctly. You might also find this stuff online, and that might be where you find the largest selection from which you can choose. If you are doing this for your child, you can ask them to see which of the wall dcor items they think they like the most. Dont worry if they choose wrong though, as you can easily take them down in a year and put up something else. Children seem to change what they like as often as they outgrow sneakers, so having easy to remove dcor items will seem like a blessing.
