Upholstered chair

Choosing a chair or set of chairs for each room in the house is not hard. Most have hard backed chairs in the dining room, and they like to have an upholstered chair or two in the living or family room. Some like to have them in the bedroom, and if I had more space I would do the same. Though choosing a chair seems easy enough, I have found there are a few things that might make a difference in what someone might want to buy. If you have pets or children, you do have more to think about than just what size and color you want to get.

My cats are the biggest problem, and they have ruined more than on upholstered chair in my home. I cant blame them for the most part, but it is hard to see a perfectly good and rather expensive chair have to be tossed out with the trash. The cats are both housebroken, and they use their litter box most of the time. However, when a cat is sick, they may find somewhere else to go. This often happens when they have a urinary tract infection. This was what happened to the first upholstered chair that I had to throw out.

I noticed a wet spot on the upholstered chair and feared my daughter had dumped her milk into it. Upon closer inspection I realized it was cat urine, and I knew one of my cats must be sick. After caring for the cat, I turned my attention to the upholstered chair. I did everything I could think of to get rid of the urine and the smell, but nothing worked. At first it seemed that I had gotten it out, but after a while the smell returned, and turned into something even worse. The chair had to go.

Pets can also scratch up an upholstered chair, so you do have to keep an eye on them when the chair is new. You have to redirect them when they go to scratch it. You might even want to keep a scratching post near the chair until they get it, and they will get it. Children also have a habit of spilling things in new chairs, so you may want to get them a new one that is just their size so they stay out of the other one. Some things will come out and there will be no worries. Other times, however, the chair will be destroyed.
