Transformers Animated Series

The Transformers animated series began in 1984, surrounding the concept of huge robots that could transform into vehicles, animals or whatever form that helped them in the war they fought. Transformers first started as a mini-series that introduced characters like the famous Optimus Prime and notorious Megatron, leaders of the Autobots and Decepticons respectively. On Earth the two factions battled in order to return to their home planet of Cybertron, and in the end the Autobots prevailed, but the Decepticons survived and remained at large. The Autobots were going to return to Cybertron, but instead they remained behind to protect Earth from the Decepticons.

Since the first encounter between the Autobots and the Decepticons, the Transformers animated series has produced 5 seasons, a movie, and a Generation 2 series. Transformers has remained a omnipresent facet of the animation industry, and though focus on the Transformers began to wane for a period of time, it persisted steadfastly, perhaps thanks to revived publicity generated by the Transformers live action movie series starring big name actors like Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. The recent blockbuster, which has a sequel in the works, reminded audiences of its roots as an animated series. The Transformers Animated is the latest Transformers animated series, which currently runs on The Cartoon Network, airing on NickToons and Jetix. It has some continuity but it diverges from the previous animated series. Transformers Animated is located in Detroit and it brings us new characters like the Dinobots and Soundwave, but Transformers is still about the everlasting battle between the good Autobots and the evil Decepticons that endures throughout 3 seasons.

The Transformers animated series are just a part of the huge cultural impact the Transformers franchises has had on society. Transformers began as toy action figures, and since then theyve been a TV show, a movie, a video game, and even a cereal. Transformers events have taken place at which Transformers enthusiasts have congregated through shared interest. It makes sense for Transformers to fit into our culture because it contains elements of war, technology, and good versus evil, all of which are classic themes that society has grappled with time and time again. In the way that the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons never seemed to end, the world will probably continue to be imbued in conflict and controversial advancements. But where Decepticons will always exist, Autobots will exist as well.
