You might already have one of the thousands of stay at home jobs and not even know it. In this digital age, more and more projects are done completely digitally, without any hard copies. This means that more and more, people can do their jobs from anywhere at virtually anytime.

There are certainly a lot of pros for having one of the many stay at home jobs. Obviously, the first is that it makes it easier on the employee. Between cutting back on business attire expenses and certainly on commuting costs, a stay at home job can save a lot of money. But it can also save a lot of money for the employers. Having their employees work at home means that they can save substantially on their overhead costs, whether it is in office space or the various utilities and such that are involved with maintaining and office.

But there are also negatives to having one of the stay at home jobs. First of all, companies are worried about lack of productivity, and with good reason. While working out of an office is not always the most efficient, stay at home jobs are full of distractions, as well as the sense that no one is watching and keeping you accountable to your task. It also hampers communication and united vision to some degree as things such as tone and trust and arguments are difficult when not done face to face.

Either way, stay at home jobs are here to stay. If this is something you are interested in, you might not even have to have a new job. If you end up doing a lot of your work without face to face contact, check with your boss if work from home makes sense, even just one or two days a week.
