Mario, a universal video game icon, has been around ever since Nintendo introduced him in the early 1980s, and theres always been a steady supply of new Super Mario games to play. Practically every Mario game has spawned sequel after sequel, even veering from the standard adventure-oriented Super Mario games into the sports, music and puzzle video game genres. However, Mario has always remained an adventure game character at heart and Super Mario Games have complimented every generation of Nintendo system released.
The appeal of playing Super Mario games lies in their simple-to-master yet reasonably challenging gameplay that provides them with entertainment value for years to come. Learning how to play Super Mario games is pretty easy. It doesnt take too much effort to learn how to work the controls so that you can run around and jump on things. Yet theres something about running around and jumping on said things thats so ridiculously fun and addicting.

Theres something about rescuing the hopelessly prone-to-abduction Princess Peach that never gets old. Its no wonder that Super Mario games have stood the test of time.
The wide availability of Super Mario games to play unfortunately also means there are many games and systems to buy. This is where it comes in handy to have friends who have all the video games you dont. If youre cheap, friendless or too lazy to leave your seat in front of the computer, there are plenty of fan-made Super Mario games to play online. However, people can get really creative when left to their own devices. Online Super Mario games might not be your cup of tea if youre not interested in insanely impossible levels, kooky graphics or just plain bizarreness in general. They do say that the best things in life are free, but they also say that you get what you pay for (or dont).
