Room Divider Screens Add Beauty and Privacy
When I moved into my new home last spring, I didn’t realize just how spacious some of my rooms were until I began moving furniture into them. Those pieces that seemed so large and overbearing in my old apartment were now dwarfed by the size of my new place. Since I like to keep things warm and cozy in my living quarters, I wanted a way to reduce the size of the space without adding too much clutter. I found what I was looking for in room divider screens.
The best thing about these room divider screens is that there are enough styles and sizes to choose from that I was able to find a design that fit every space in my home. From traditional, three panel designs in rich wood, to sleek metal frames with mesh inserts, I was able to find the perfect decorative touch for my entire house. The hardest part of the shopping experience was selecting just a few out of the many beautiful choices available!
One of my favorite features of some of the room divider screens that I found was the ability to provide storage within the unit itself. Some of these designs served this purpose by adding pockets to the inserts that could store items, making them perfect for a multimedia space or a child’s playroom. I found others that included rods across the panels to hold a collection of magazines. This was the ideal addition to my teenage son’s bedroom, so he could keep all of his skating and gaming publications close at hand.
I was particularly impressed with the Japanese styles that I found in shoji room divider screens. These pieces were positively lovely in their simplicity, adding airiness to any home with the clean lines and light-as-a-feather rice paper. There are many colors and designs of these accessories that work well in just about any area that would benefit from this clean, simple style. I even came across a blue frame, and some that were embellished with gorgeous silk screen paintings right on the rice paper.
Another particularly striking design that I found was room divider screens crafted of wrought iron with intricate scroll designs. While these models didn’t do much to add privacy, they were a beautiful accessory that made me think of the large iron gates that embellish the entrance of large homes nestled on acres of pristine property. I thought these room divider screens would be perfect for adding a touch of elegance to a traditionally masculine space, such as an office or library.
Room divider screens serve a myriad of functions, from breaking up a large space to adding privacy. They can also be a lovely accessory, nestled into a corner to add dimension and color. Check out what one of these fabulous accessories can do to dress up a drab space in your home!
