If you have the need for a receptionist, you may not think much about it beyond hiring the right person, but knowing where to place reception desks can make a difference in how smoothly things run from day to day. They should also be adequate for your business needs.
Where you place reception desks may not mean the difference between the success and failure of your business, but it may have a bigger effect than you know. There may be obvious places where a desk could go that would cost much less to install, but it could be the wrong spot for your business. If you are renting a spot for your business, and there are already reception desks in place, you may think they should stay to save money, even if they are not in a good spot. Some people may only need a small desk, but that does not always mean that is what would work best. Bigger reception desks actually indicate success and prosperity. If you have the space, get or build desks that are a bit too big for your present needs but look nice. That may give off the impression that you are doing well and will help you build confidence with your new costumers coming through he door for the first time.
Bigger reception desks are also great when you think about growth in the future. Not all businesses thrive or even survive, but you want to go into it thinking that you are going to do both. If you have to expand or even add another receptionist, it is great to already have the room there for that person or the extra equipment you may need to add to the front area of your business. This saves you from spending more money on a renovation or the problems that come with short term construction in the entrance to your building or suite.
