Choosing the Right Votive Candle Holders
Candle light can add a great mood to many celebrations, dinners, and even just a quiet bath. We have many ways to light just about any situation, but something inside of us still loves the primitive light that a candle can offer. There are many sizes of candles out there, but votives are some of the most common. You often see them as wedding favors, and as the perfect candles to have around the tub during a relaxing bath. Obviously, you want to have votive candle holders so that you donĂt have wax running all over the place when you use them.
Votive candle holders come in all shapes and sizes. What is great about them is that they fit in small places, though that is never a good idea for a lit candle. It does make them easy to store when they are not in use though. Most of them can sit on any type of surface, and will protect your furniture and your carpets from runaway wax. If you have ever tried to get wax out of a carpet, you probably already appreciate what votive candle holders are meant for.
There are some great holders for votive candles that are made with glass. You do have to be careful with this a bit though, as some types of glass do not make the best holders. One reason for this is because they can get too hot and burn someone if they choose to pick them up, and in some rare cases, they can break or shatter. You can usually avoid these problems by paying a bit more for your votive candle holders. That should ensure that you have glass holders that are not going to break on you, though you will still have to be careful when lifting them.
One thing that can be very irritating about using votive candle holders, or any type of candle holders for that matter, would be that they are hard to clean out when a candle burns down. There is a very cool trick that has worked 99% of the time for me when I use votive candles. You can put a few drops of water down in the bottom of the candle holder before you insert the candle. For the most part, this allows the wax to come right out once you have burned the candle down and want to remove it.
