Choosing The Right Swimming Pool For Kids

I have always wanted to have a huge swimming pool in my back yard. Unfortunately, that is not meant to be at the present time for a variety of reasons. The first is that I dont own my own home yet, so having one on a rental property just does not make any sense. Secondly, though I could save up for one, I fear the maintenance is just not in our budget just now. So until things have changed, I am going to have to settle for what I can get. In fact, I usually just get one for my daughter and then I am done with it.

The very first swimming pool that any child should have should be very tiny and very safe. You may see tiny blow up pools in the stores and think they are a waste of money, but they are the perfect size for a child of one or two years old. Some dont think to put their kids in swimming pools at this age, but it is a great idea. That helps them to have an understanding of water, and allows them to be a bit freer in the water when they get older. You dont want to put them in a swimming pool for the first time at age twelve or they are going to be scared.

When a child reaches three, four, five, and six years old, you can go with a larger swimming pool. This can be something that has six inches to a foot of water, but you should always remember how dangerous that can be if the children are left unattended. Even an inch of water is dangerous for children of any age. Allow them to learn more about the water, but never, ever leave them unattended for any amount of time, even a second. You can find many great pool toys that you can allow them to use while in there, and that can help keep them occupied.

As they get even older, some may not want a smaller swimming pool as much, but would rather have things that make sprinkles and can be used for sliding. You can always try something like the Slip and Slide, or you can get larger pools that have sprinklers, slides, and simple filtration systems. What you should know no matter where you live is that there are always regulations about a swimming pool that you should know. Get that facts before you buy something. Steep fines can come up if you dont pay attention to your local laws and regulations.
